Madrid in Game Supports SOMNI’s Stepland Following a €600,000 Funding Round

SOMNI, an entrepreneur from the Start IN Up Program of Madrid in Game since its fifth cohort, is developing Stepland, a wellness application that connects real-world healthy habits with progression within a gamified digital environment. The project was born with the ambition of demonstrating that video games can be a positive tool for personal well-being, combining design, technology, and emotional engagement.

In recent months, SOMNI and its team, led by Karim Casado and Sergi Perelló, have been recognized by various institutions and stakeholders within the entrepreneurial and technological ecosystem. Among the most recent milestones are the “Best Startup” award from Catalunya TIC Sud, the Best Entrepreneurship Project award from the Tarragona Provincial Council—worth €4,000 after competing against more than 70 startups—and other recognitions that endorse the innovation and impact of the project currently being accelerated at the Video Game Campus. In addition, the startup has received support from the Ajuntament de Vandellòs i l’Hospitalet de l’Infant, where the company is legally established, as well as from IDETSA, both key entities in its early development.

SOMNI has built a solid foundation combining private investment and public funding. The project has currently secured €619,000 of a planned total round of €662,000, with a valuation of €1.2 million. Among the most significant sources of support is a €141,000 ENISA loan, granted thanks to a collaboration with APTKI, as well as a €115,000 grant from the Nuclear Transition Fund. Overall, the total funding for the project amounts to €662,000.

At the same time, Stepland has already validated its value proposition in the market with more than 500 users, achieving notable metrics such as D1 retention rates above 40% and over 20% in D7 retention. With these results, the team is currently focused on developing the final version of the product, which is scheduled to launch in March 2026. As a result, SOMNI is consolidating its position as one of the standout companies within Madrid in Game’s acceleration program, the most ambitious in the video game sector, with strong growth prospects and impact heading into 2026.
