Madrid Inaugurates the Discovery Center, the New Experiential Hub of the Madrid in Game Campus
The Madrid City Council has inaugurated the Discovery Center, the fourth pavilion of the Madrid in Game Video Game Campus, located in Casa de Campo. The Mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, welcomed the new pavilion and its activities alongside institutional representatives, leaders of the Madrid Video Game Cluster, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders from the local and national gaming ecosystem.
Alongside the new pavilion, “The Experience” was also unveiled: a free proposal consisting of two activities around the Video Game Campus. These include the Stellar Path, an outdoor gamified route based on augmented reality that invites visitors to discover the impact of gaming on the urban environment, and the MIG Station, an immersive indoor itinerary that combines technology, interactive content, and virtual reality.
The Discovery Center was created as a unique experiential hub, designed to bring the impact of video games and gamification closer to the public beyond entertainment. Education, health, urban planning, and mobility are some of the areas in which these technologies are already transforming everyday life, through an educational and experiential space open to all audiences.
With this inauguration, Madrid strengthens its commitment to video games and gamification as drivers of innovation, talent, and quality employment, while consolidating the Madrid in Game Video Game Campus as an international benchmark for the industry and a meeting point between technology, creativity, and the public.
