25,000 players have taken part in Madrid’s municipal eSports leagues, Esports Series Madrid, which kicks off its third season

Madrid in Game’s Esports Series Madrid is kicking off its third season, consolidating its position as one of the most important municipal video game competitions in the world. Pioneering since its launch in 2023, the leagues have brought together more than 25,000 players in tournaments featuring titles such as Fortnite, Valorant, League of Legends, Clash Royale and Pokémon.

The 2025 season began on 10 February with the online Fortnite league and continued on 15 February with an in-person Valorant tournament at the Esports Center on the Video Game Campus, alongside online Clash Royale and League of Legends competitions scheduled to take place in the days following the launch. During the first Split, running from February to June, the competition will combine in-person and online tournaments, while Pokémon will return in the second half of the year.

With free access and open participation for all players, the competition not only fosters talent and real-time strategy, but also strengthens Madrid’s position as a benchmark in the eSports industry. The Video Game Campus and its Esports Center, the epicentre of the event, remain key spaces for the community, offering training facilities and opportunities to meet professionals from the sector.
